You’re telling a narrative about Elijah, and that relates to you…how? Are you Elijah? Or claiming to be in his position, saying that God interacts with you the same way? Are you even Jewish?

Why aren’t you Jezebel, or Esther, or the Ethiopian Eunuch, or Philip, or James of Zebedee? Why do you get to pick your favorites roles to play? You get to just raid the Jewish scriptures for characters you like, transpose them on yourself, and go about your day feeling invigorated? No.

If the Bible extends any book of instruction to a Gentile person, it would be only 1 John—a text you ignore. You’re too busy imagining scenarios of yourself as an OT prophet to be you.
