None of that is true. You people just pick out details you want to use to manipulate others, and call it a word definition.

In the New Testament, the Greek word dikaiosunē translates a Hebrew word, tzedaqah, which refers to fulfilling the terms of a covenant with God.

As N.T. Wright puts it: “The Hebrew word for ‘righteousness,’ tzedaqah, indicates a relationship: a committed, covenanted relationship.”

To be 'righteous' is to live within the covenant with God operative at that time. For Gentiles that is not Jewish rules (cf. Heb 8:13). The terms are given in John 13:34: “A new command I give you: Love one another.”
