But let's have a heart-to-heart. Women's fashion of the 1980s was super, super gay and really full-on drag- from Madonna to Nolan Miller's work on "Dynasty," etc. So Amy wearing men's clothes seemed tame, in context, and yet would *typically* have been religiously prohibited in many churches.
