What we see in John 1:1-3 or Hebrews 1:1-3, as regards the nature of Jesus, is anything but clear. I find an idea of the Son as a replacement for the father in some kind of succession drama—thus, father and son.

A son is not 'preexistent'; a son is created or conceived, and then born.
