Well, you're right that admitting anything outside the Bible would be a problem. But if the found texts had serviced Christian ideology, they'd have found a way.
The standard view in Christianity is anti-Semitic, with the idea that if "they" convert then they'll be "saved" just like any unbeliever. That God has some kind of ongoing plan for the Jews would be deeply challenging to Christian ideas of 'salvation'.
