Well, I see Origen clearly saying that Jews believed in reincarnation, so that seems to contexualize the information from Josephus.

But the reality is that the Bible doesn't "teach" anything. It's beyond vague, exists in many varying manuscripts, and has been claimed by a "religion" clearly only interested in population control and politics.

So it "teaches" anything one wants.
