The phrase "scholarly consensus" is simply an observation and doesn't carry the suggestion something is true. Otherwise, no change in knowledge would ever occur.

The idea coming in view is that Christian men like yourself, by lying and attack, arranged an important biblical text to be destroyed. They did it as an act of personal and religious hatred.
