The phrase "born again" is not attached to early Christians as a label. They were called people on ‘the Way’ (Acts 9:2, 19:9, etc.). The Greek word 'hodon' evokes the image of a road and the idea of walking, a gradual process. It's not about sudden transformation under overheated emotional pressures at church, which is the usual "born again" concept.
