The impression I got was that Stanley didn’t have much ability to communicate with anyone. If I had to guess his wife’s insight in their hospital therapy session it’s that he spent his youth in empty rooms and remains in one, in his mind & spirit. His T.V. studio and pulpit are just extensions of that impenetrable solitude.
