The idea of historical progress might be an anxious formulation!! Cuz we're special, goddammmit!

… it comes from both the people who want to oppress same sex relationships...and the LGBT community. I think a lot of us fear that if we acknowledge the past wasn't so bad then we may have to fear things getting worse again...
I think we have a tendency to assume that people in the past were automatically less "enlightened"…
