That's very well put thank you. I was looking over children's books about Jim Elliot and was startled by how he seemed nearly seductive in several of them, like a gay pin-up. Then he is allowed to be seen unclothed, very unusually. It's striking to think of a queer/gay energy being imported into the heart of Evangelical culture through his unusual legend.
