That's a great point which Christianity never understood. I noticed it made in The Grammar of God by Aviya Kushner, about a Jewish woman reading Christian translations: "The Hebrew text I grew up with is beautifully unruly, often ambiguous, multiple in meaning, and hard to pin down; many of the English translations are, above all, certain."
