Thanks, yes. The levels of insult and academic fraud are really something. I've not seen anything like it before. They purport to "out" someone whose sexuality is not even part of the story, on no evidence, and with the apparent intention of destabilizing the reception of a discovered text. Incredible.

I wrote the Yale University Press editor but received no reply.

They do not even wish to say that they'll issue a notice concerning the mistakes the scholars' admit, or make corrections in a new printing of the book.

I can only assume the a book is marketed to Evangelicals and other homophobic Christians, and they don't care if the book is accurate. They know it's not.
