This is because the biblical teaching is being rejected. The Evangelical wants to “love God”- but Jesus says “love one another.” The spiritual activity is happening between humans.

The Evangelical then turns to examinations of sex lives with bizarre reference to OT temple purity codes. A rejection of Christ- who is loved as he inheres in each human.
