Thank you, that does highlight a key difference. Jesus is indicating that following him and severing from spiritually dead people (i.e. those in the service of dying gods) is the important act at that time.

But for Paul, love between "Jesus people" would be seen as a divine sign and so must be respected. Takeaway- in the Jesus community, feelings are important!
