Thank you, I find this reply more helpful to me than your original remarks even- in trying to illuminate a pathway to a biblical spirituality. I've tried efforts to clarify the details of OT law but it isn't getting people clear of their idea that religion is regulated reproductivity. Religion feels safe when doing the "four rituals," and one selects a denomination based on how elaborate one wishes the ritualizing to be, and how intense the shaming is to be for those who live unregulated. Catholics love the rituals, Evangelicals the shaming.

It does seem the messianic project is a new spirit family--as a practice done in view of resurrection. I take the challenge to be learning to be a spirit being, and to live without the impositions of biological reproduction & death ("the patterns of this world"), even as mortals. What is love like that isn't rooted in the idea of mating and then dying together? It might just be getting to know people, or being known. What is sexuality? It might just be feeling.
