Thank you. I’d like to note this shaming isn’t present in the Bible. As Foucault says in 1980: “the so-called Christian morality is nothing more than a piece of pagan ethics inserted into Christianity.”

Read without “church” blinders and controls, the text is enormously affirming of human intimacy (“one in Christ”) and offers a radically inclusive social ethic, with eunuchs and women elevated to prominence.
