Thank you. The references you cite are not unknown to Christianity. When the scriptures are enlisted in a misogynist agenda, then we have a different storyline: men who know they are opposing the text, even as they pretend to speak- authoritatively!- on its behalf.

The even deeper problem is that nearly all Christian people understand gender hierarchy and policing to be the central practice of the faith. If that is removed, it would be unclear how to be Christian, and then . . . how to view the male teachers who brought the tradition to this low point.
