The theological point, I'm thinking, will strike Christians as quite far-fetched, but I think that God is a dual-gendered deity, "male and female," and Jesus had to be born male and then painfully transgendered in order to achieve a representation of God. Thus the bizarre female references around the Crucifixion and apparent reference to it as 'childbirth'.
