Not to hit my own hobby horse, but I’ve been wondering if the Bible is meant to be understood as a fantasy of sorts. Historians have great difficulty proving any of the OT narratives, and I recently read a paper calling the OT a “fairy-tale” — maybe this should be understood in positive terms as God intending a magical adventure. Do we need a fantasy space to discover ourselves? A hole torn in reality, to disappear into & re-think who we are.
