Malachi 2:16 refers to God’s marriage to Israel. Human spouses separating is legal under Jewish law and occurs often in the narratives without comment, so it’s hard to argue God “hates” it, wouldn’t you say? Is your agenda as a cleric to bring laws crazily derived from OT prophesy and inflict them on people? If so, I wish you would have no job in spiritual service. You’re going to tell suffering people that God “hates” them if they’ve separated from spouses?
