It might be nice to mention the giants who were a regular feature of the OT narratives, and even more so in the surrounding Enoch literature. To specify Goliath's height in 1 Sam 17:4 might have the intended effect of suggesting how *short* Goliath was in contrast to his giant forebears, who'd seem to have been imagined as truly massive (cf. Numbers 13:33, etc.).
