In a culture of compulsory marriage, where people often married just to say they were married, Henrietta Mears remained single.
In a religion of female inferiority she awarded herself clerical status, a 'spiritual male'. She also kept a private personal style that is typically lesbian, and then dressed up in nearly ludicrous drag for public performances. Somehow you avoided all that.
