I'm afraid you've being fed some Christian propaganda. Paul does say that marriage is a burden, but the alternative is not shutting down sexuality. It's a freer sexuality.

You haven't been told that OT law doesn't restrict unmarried sex. The Bible does not hold out eroticism as divinely policed. To reject marriage is just to reject conventions of being owned and managed. Rejecting marriage opens up the new possibility of equitable partnerships, sharing and cooperating as the terms of human engagement.
