If killing is bad as a universal "moral" idea, then why does God often tell the Israelites to kill their neighbors? as in Deut 20:17: "Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the LORD your God has commanded you."
