Hi Richard, thanks for the reminder to slow down this important subject for beginning readers. You have learned to look up Bible verses, so let’s go a little deeper and start to read them. It would be much easier to have a discussion if you familiarize yourself with some basic readings. I suggest:
- David Biale, “The God with Breasts: El Shaddai in the Bible”
- Philip Tite, “Nurslings, Milk and Moral Development in the Greco-Roman Context: A Reappraisal of the Paraenetic Utilization of Metaphor in 1 Peter 2.1–3”
Also, a chapter on breasts in the Song of Songs is to be found in Edmée Kingsmill’s The Song of Songs and the Eros of God: A Study in Biblical Intertextuality.
