Hi Paul. You've managed to read the word "help" into all uses of the word 'ezer' and then declared it means "help."

The problem is that you keep trying to get God to define Eve’s nature in the language of power. The “context” you are reading for is being generated by that intention.

The word ezer suggests in general some kind of assist. At that point in the story, the human race faces death and so extinction (2:17). What assistance is needed? Reproductivity.

When going to make the ‘helper’, God is basically saying that the human needs a female or the species will die out.

For support of this reading, note that in 1 Enoch 15:5, God is speaking about the moment of creating the woman, and says this:

"Therefore I gave them women, that they might cast seed into them, and thus beget children by them, that nothing fail them on the earth."
