Hey, it’s funny I was just looking over my notes for months of study on the word agape. Are you defining it in reference to following the Ten Commandments? That is, frankly, dumb.
Agape means family love.
But also, as you write, I’d just finished writing about Billy Graham, and the point about whether we can make theological principles based on our human understanding of “good” vs. “bad” effects.
You say that if I’ve seen divorce with “bad” effects then it means God thinks divorce is “bad.”
That is lunacy. The scriptures forcefully deny that idea.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” God says in Isaiah 55:8–9.
News flash, Peter: God works through averse or “bad” circumstances. Have you heard of the Crucifixion??
By your standard, it is “bad.”
