Good critique, thanks! I'd add that child brides & child sex are found around the world. It doesn't matter a hill of beans what the Bible says- people do what they do and systems of power operate with holy texts as cover. Jesus holding out the child as a sacred state was ignored even by early Christianity.
I'd caution that the 10 Commandments are not a program for ethical living, and don't create a workable legal system. They're likely meant to regulate interactions with other divinities. In the Old Testament, for example, 'adultery' is synonymous with 'idolatry'.
As it turns out, the Bible is mostly about the spirit realm, as began to come into view only with the Dead Sea Scrolls and modern Bible scholarship. The Christian tradition has no ability to read the Bible and simply misrepresents it to terrorize people.
