Does the arrest of Jesus in Mark 14:44 provide evidence of his "generic" appearance? In many scenes in the gospels there's a lack of clarity about who Jesus is, as if his appearance is changing. That's the unusual suggestion of Luke 24:16, Jn 21:7, etc.

The polymorphy of Jesus is a subject that Christianity doesn't like because it doesn't encourage the fantasy of realism they bring to the gospels. Jesus is often magic.
