Did I say Campbell was a misogynist? I don't recall having done so. I said he was a sexist, and that was based on a 1981 interview done by therapist Maureen Murdock on the place of women in the 'hero's journey':
He said:
“In the whole mythological tradition the woman is *there*. All she has to do is to realize that she’s the place that people are trying to get to. When a woman realizes what her wonderful character is, she’s not going to get messed up with the notion of being pseudo-male.”
Now, this denies to women the idea of evolving, changing, growing, going on journeys, and being mostly a resource for men. It could easily be read as misogynist.
